Frequently Asked Questions
Many people have purchased a custom watch from us as their first automatic timepiece. Through feedback we have accumulated some FAQs that might be helpful for your first automatic timepiece.
My watch arrived and the second hand is not moving, what should I do?
Automatic watches rely on motion, your watch may not be wound. Please unscrew the crown until the crown gives and then wind the watch crown away from you to start the watch.
I set my watch down for a couple days and the watch seems to have lost several hours, is it broken?
We use the Seiko NH series of movements. These watch movements have a maximum power reserve of 41 hours in their mainspring. If you set the watch down and check several days later, your watch might be behind several hours due to the power reserve running out of tension, try winding the watch and then setting it to the current time. If the watch holds good time when on wrist, then your watch most likely ran out of power.
I can't pull out the crown to set the time. What should I do?
We use screw down crowns for increased water resistance. Please try turning the crown counterclockwise. After winding the watch and setting the time, ensure the crown is screwed back in so that you protect the movement from water damage.
My watch seems to run fast (or slow). What should I do?
Seiko NH series movements are expected to run between -20 to +40 seconds per day. We at LSWG regulate the watch to a minimum of +10/-10 with a optimal goal of +2/-2 and a beat error of under 0.4. If your watch falls within our range, it is working as intended. Should you suddenly notice a big difference in performance, your watch may be experiencing magnetization. Please contact LSWG so that we can service your watch if required.
My watch bracelet is too large for my wrist, how do I resize the watch?
Watch resizing tools are shipped with your purchase underneath the top foam of your watch case. Please watch our resizing instructional video in order to learn how to properly resize your watch.
I don't know how to set the watch, how do I set the time and other functions?
Watch instructions are available for viewing on the "Watch Guide" tab of our website. Please follow the instructions based on your movement. If you require additional instructions click the picture describing your watch and you will be redirected to our YouTube channel.
